Google will launch two new features for its Google TV – Android Market and Honeycomb. As Google TV was launched a year ago with shipment started from Oct 2010 , it had a poor start with less service and support.
After many delays, Google has now prepared for launching Honeycomb and Marketplace for Sony Google TV and Logitech Revue. Sony will be the first receiving the update. Sony also mentioned this in their press website
“Sony released the world’s first TV based on the Google TV platform in the U.S. last October – today’s update brings a simpler and clean interface, improved performance, better search functionality and the Android Market to all currently installed Sony Internet TV and Sony Internet TV Blu-ray owners. Additionally, future consumers of Sony Internet TVs and Blu-ray Disc players will receive the update during the initial start-up installation. Other new benefits include better integration with Android™ and IOS devices, like smartphones and tablets”
The update will really change the current status of Google in their TV platform. An enhanced YouTube integration will be provided for better search and watching the movies. Google TV will be a tough competitor to its present rivals Apple and Microsoft. Everyone are waiting for better change in the TV platform that can make the viewers feel amazed and surprised.
Let us hope that Google will not disappoint the viewers who will(may) update this new feature of Google TV next week.
