We had a lot of rumors about the acquisition of Ericsson by Sony Corp. And now its official. Sony will take over the control of Sony Ericsson and will buy out all the shares from Ericsson mobiles. A deal of $ 2.12 billion was made by Ericsson and Sony has agreed for the deal and operations are going fast for the acquisition.
The deal will be finalized by January 2012. Sony has taken this big leap to bring their focus to Smartphones under their own brand name as they have been doing for LCD TVs , DVD players, etc. The deal is said to improve their present status in mobile platform.
Whatever the reason may be for this deal , Sony will be happy with this acquisition.
