Dalai Lama has recently joined Google+ (while he was already in social websites Twitter and Facebook , with more than 2 Million followers and fans) and had a hangout with Desmond Tutu as a part of “Inaugural Desmond Tutu Peace Lecture”. He was supposed to visit South Africa in person but visa woes prevented the holy leader from entering the country. However, that didn’t stop the Dalai Lama, he utilized the social networking site effectively here.
On last Friday he officially statemented,
” His Holiness the Dalai Lama will have a conversation with Archbishop Desmond Tutu by live video over a Hangout (Google+’s video conferencing platform) as part of the Inaugural Desmond Tutu Peace Lecture in Cape Town, South Africa, on October 8, starting at 10:30am South African time (GMT+2.00). A link to the Google+ Hangout will be available approximately 20-30 minutes before the event begins. “
